Introduction
What is the one core character between most successful people? What is that one character that is responsible for their growth? It’s the one character that you and I have, but have surrendered it to this world. Yep...it’s TIME. Our world system has defined the terms under which we can use our God given time. Our birth right to managing our time has been handed over to our people who we bilieve have the power to direct our future (e.g. employers). As a society we have been off track for so long that we now believe that work commences at 8am and has to end at 4:30pm. We now believe that we can only spend quality time with our families on weekends. We now believe that our bank accounts can ONLY look good at the end of the month.
The minute you allow someone to control and manage your time, you have given up the right to grow at your own God given pace. You have allowed your “new” time manager to also manage your level and pace of growth.
Let me ask you one simple yet life changing question, who is in control of your time? Who have you appointed as the overseer of your life? Whatever answer you come up with, just know that you have the short end of the stick. I believe that time has arrived for you to regain control over your life?
The puzzle as to why you have been working so hard for a long time but have not enjoyed the fruits of your labour is going solved today. We are going to focus on 2 steps that will ensure that you regain your time, thus regaining the power to grow to a level and at a pace that the Lord set for you.
Identify your purpose
God not only created you with a distinct design, but He also placed in you a unique purpose. Its only the creator (God) that has the power to give you the “original intent” you were born to fulfil. How does the fulfilment of your purpose work in practical terms? Proverbs 18:16 is a powerful statement that reveals the answer: “A man’s gift (purpose) makes room for him”. You were designed to be known for your gift. God has placed a purpose in you that the “world” will be forced to make a room for. It is this gift (purpose) that will enable you to fulfil your vision. It is in exercising this gift that you will find real fulfilment and contentment on earth.
The one biggest benefit of understanding and acknowledging your purpose is that letting your purpose to be aligned to your passion. Passion is the only antidote for counteracting the effects of “losing your time” to your time manage. To be passionate about your purpose, literally means that you have a powerful or compelling emotion reason why you engage on a particular activity. People who are passionate about their activity do not work within the “allocated working period”. They do not start work at 8am and eagerly wait for 4:30pm so they can go home. Their passion is the only determiner as to what time they start work and what time they finish. The first step in regaining the power to grow to a level and at a pace that the Lord set for you, is by understanding your purpose (original intent) on earth.
Key to your wealth
The second part of Proverbs 18:16 reads, “A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men”. Whenever you exercise your gift (purpose), the world will not only make room for you, but it will also pay you for it. By discovering your purpose and developing it, you will become a premium commodity. Do what you were born to do, and see the world make a room for you to make money. No matter how big the world is, there is a place for you in it when you discover and manifest your purpose.
Michelangelo passionately poured his life into his purpose - art. That is why we still remember him five hundred years after he lived. If you choose your career or jobs based on “suitable working hours”, you will probably always be able to find some sort of job, yet you are going to be simply a mediocre employee. It is when you decide that you are going to find something that is truly yours that you will find your gift, fulfil your vision, and be remembered by others.
Whoever said that the key to your wealth is in the hands of yours boss or “working hours” really misled you. It’s only by passionately working on your purpose, that room will be created for you to reap the read of your hard work.
Conclusion
The bible says that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Today, I would like to encourage you to position yourself for a great future. The only way you can position yourself, is by controlling and managing your TIME. Never allow any person except your passion to control and manage your time.
By understanding and acknowledging your purpose, you will be making a room for yourself and your purpose will bring you before great men. Today, decide that you are going to take back your time, and you will see the Lord take your ordinary and transform it into the extraordinary.
