Psalm5:8 – "Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow."
Over the past weekend the world witnessed a going home celebration for Whitney Houston one of the greatest voices of our time live on three major international television channels, CNN, BBC, and Sky. It was an awesome service that was full of people who spoke and sang from their hearts. It was indeed an amazing experience. The one thin that came into my mind as I was watching was how the bible was coming alive on that evening. The word tells us that no one will say I did not hear about Jesus.
When I tuned into all the major networks that covered the celebration, it dawned on me that the world was getting exposed the message of Jesus live on circular television. So, no matter who you are and what your religious beliefs are, if you watched the service you got to know about Jesus! That for me was a highlight of my weekend. I was humbled to see that God used someone that the world considered to be sinner to spread his good news through their send off. Whitney Houston was given a true Christian send off that touched millions if not billions all over the world. That is how God works!
As I was watching it got imprinted in my heart that I truly want to be led by God. If you are led by God you know that he will never taking you into places where he knows he will not be able to carry you through. If he takes you through the fire, it will be because he wants the world to know that he is a God who can do anything. The fire will not harm you. If he takes you through the waters, you will not drown.
He is God like that. If you are led by God when things go tough, all you need to say is ‘God thank you for your faith in me, I know that if I have it, it means I can go through it’. That is how you treat things when God is your leader. The one I like about his leadership is that he will always lead us to greener pastures. No matter what seems to be prevailing in our lives at the moment, if we are led by God there is victory on the other side. He is a faithful God. He is a God who loves us dearly.
Today I want to appeal to you as we hand over our lives to him and ask him to lead us. Let us allow him to take full control. If he leads us we have no reason to worry about our tomorrows. We have no reason to worry about things that are happening in our lives. As long as he is on the throne, victory is certain. Trials and tribulations will come. But if he leads us, we will know that they are all just a test. We will know that weeping may last for a night, but joy will be coming in the morning.
I am handing my life to him right now. I want to be led by God from this point onwards. I want him to be in charge. I know that with him I will not go wrong. You too can join me and experience his goodness today. Do not wait no longer, hand your life to him today. Hand all aspects of it to him and he will surely guide you and lead you through.
God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
