Fire your boss
Vol. 257 - 19 February 2012

What is the one core character between most successful people? What is that one character that is responsible for their growth? It’s the one character that you and I have, but have surrendered it to this world. Yep...it’s TIME. Our world system has defined the terms under which we can use our God given time. Our birth right to managing our time has been handed over to our people who we bilieve have the power to direct our future (e.g. employers). As a society we have been off track for so long that we now believe that work commences at 8am and has to end at 4:30pm. We now believe that we can only spend quality time with our families on weekends. We now believe that our bank accounts can ONLY look good at the end of the month.

The minute you allow someone to control and manage your time, you have given up the right to grow at your own God given pace. You have allowed your “new” time manager to also manage your level and pace of growth.
Let me ask you one simple yet life changing question, who is in control of your time? Who have you appointed as the overseer of your life? Whatever answer you come up with, just know that you have the short end of the stick. I believe that time has arrived for you to regain control over your life?

The puzzle as to why you have been working so hard for a long time but have not enjoyed the fruits of your labour is going solved today. We are going to focus on 2 steps that will ensure that you regain your time, thus regaining the power to grow to a level and at a pace that the Lord set for you.

How to reach for your blessings
Vol. 256 - 12 February 2012

A week never goes past without a friend approaching me for advice regarding how to start a business. Their concern is not largely based on how to acquire the necessary capital, but their core need is around the “when” question. In simple terms, most of them are worried as to when is the right time to leave their current jobs and venture into the entrepreneurship league.

But this is not an isolated concern, as all of us one time in life we asked the “when” question. When is the right time to get married? When is the right time to quit my job and move to another company? When is the right time to have babies? When it the right time to quite my studies and focus on my sporting talents? Unfortunately most people spend their entire life on earth battling with this question.

Unfortunately I am not blessed with the ability to see into the future, thus will be unable to inform you as to when you should make that demanding and challenging move. But one thing that I can do, is highlight spiritual steps that are needed in order to identify that tipping point moment, that moment that you have to grab with both hands in order move your life to the next level.

I would like us to focus on one gentleman whose trade was tent-making. He was once temporarily blinded when a light from heaven flashed at him. He was also arrested and imprisoned for two years and during one of his voyage trips was shipwrecked and found refuge in Malta. His Hebrew name was Saul, but he is better known to us as Paul. Out of his inspiring verses in the bible, I would like us to focus on Philippians 3:14 which reads, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
Today I would like us to dig deep into our spirit and fully understand what Paul meant in Philippians 3:14, when he said “I press on to reach the end of the race.”

HANG ON....
Vol. 255 - 3 February 2012

Have you ever woken up feeling like your string is not long enough? You suddenly realise those years spent studying seem to have been a waste of time? Investment in a relationship with your so-called soul mate seemed to have left your heart bankrupt. It is at this juncture in our life that most of us tent to question our existence, purpose and future.
The first question that we ask is in regard to our existence. We tend to question or rather blame our current circumstance on the past. Most people will usually blame their skin colour, level of family affluence or the type of education received etc, for what they are currently going through. But this is a useless exercise as there is no way that one can change what has already happened..

The second type of question that we ask in regard to our purpose. We tend to question why we were born. We are so obsessed with answering that one illusive question...”what is my role in this world
The third type of question is regarding our future. We spend a lot of money paying people who claim to have knowledge of what the future holds, but the amazing thing is that we are only willing to listen to people talking about our future if the information that they are sharing is positive.

To be fair, it’s not the questions that disturbs me, but why the questions are being asked. Have you ever wondered why we have been blessed with the ability to ask personal life changing questions? Why do we rely on questions to share information that has the power to give birth to hope? The answer is too simple for most intelligent people to understand, but let me share the answer with you.

Whatever He Does
Vol. 254 - 27 January 2012

When compared to my friends I have always overestimated the love and grace that God has for me. A number of times I have been labeled as a dreamer or one who over believes in the power and might of God. To be honest, my belief in God originated from what I read in the bible, but got cemented in what God was doing in my life.

My faith in God multiplied each year as I experienced miracles after miracles. The amazing thing is that people who had labeled me crazy could see the power and grace of God in my life, but still did not want to admit that they were wrong in their assumption of my relationship with God.

This made me wonder as to what could be the stumbling block that is hindering them to move to this environment or planet in which it is easier and possible to experience God’s miraculous way.

After countless discussion with my friends, I then realized that the challenge was not that they did not believe in God, or did not believe that the great works in my life were due to God’s grace and mercy. But the challenge was that they were unable to receive the same type of blessing that I was experiencing in my life.

To pain a clear picture, we were all going to the same church, listening to the same pastor, pray together and definitely believe in the same God. If the investment was that same when it came to our relationship with God, then why should the fruits (blessing) not be the same? It was at this juncture that I decided to investigate as to what could be the difference between my approach to God and my friends approach. In my heart I was sure that God loves me the same way as he loved them, but I was not sure as to why their blessings were different from and less than my blessings.

I found the answer to this illusive and troublesome question in Psalms 1:1-3. Lets first read the verse to get the full understanding, Psalms 1:1-3 reads as follows “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper”

Outside the norm
Vol. 253 - 20 January 2012

As we get our grip tight on the year 2012, I would like to highlight one fact or matter that I believe had been a stumbling block for most people last year. It’s a misunderstood factor that has blocked many from their physical and emotional healing, a misunderstood factor that has seen marriages and business fail. It’s a matter that affects us one way or another.

For most if not all of us, our dreams and visions are very much directed by our point of reference or starting point.

To give you an example, I am sure that if you have never had more than R10 000 in your bank account, it will be hard and challenging for you to believe that God can bless you with a R1 million at a go but easier to believe that God can bless you with R20 000. What you have done in that particular thinking mode, you have decided and believed in the depth or distance of God’s blessing based on your current (R10 000) state of affairs.

Today I would like to tell you one thing, God is a God who works outside the boundaries of what we perceive as reality. He is a God who is in control of what we believe is impossible. He is a God who is in charge of what the world says it cannot be done. He is a god who is able to work outside what we have defined as normal and acceptable.
